ENGENA means to log in / check in in Nguni languages (with a smidgen of poetic license included.) Our mission was to assemble a set of tools to enable off-road trail users – biking, hiking, running - to buy a permit or access with ease and on the move. More than ten parties were involved in the development of the App – experts in mapping, database, smart-apps, front-end UX/UI, design, liaison, marketing and communications - mostly from around Stellenbosch, the main hub of South Africa’s mountain bike and athletic activities.
