Muluki Ain Nepal, Civil Act of Nepal( मुलुकी ऐन).

The National Code is a single comprehensive code that includes criminal and civil code along with the code of procedures of Nepal. The National Code has been replaced by the Muluki Criminal Code and Code of Procedures and the Muluki Civil Code and Code of Procedures on August 17, 2018.

The Muluki Ain of 2020 BS is based on its predecessor, the Muluki Ain of 1910 BS introduced by Rana Prime Minister Jung Bahadur Rana. Globally speaking, the French civil code of 1804 is considered the first modern legal code. The modern form of legal codes prevalent in the world is derived from the French civil code.

National Code (Muluki Ain) 2020 (1963) The National Code of Nepal (in Nepalese only) is the first unified law enacted in the 20th Century, more specifically, on 2020 Bhadra 1 (1963) with the objective of maintaining peace and fostering good relations among people irrespective of class, caste or region.
