Omikuji: The Fortune Box

Omikuji, or fortune boxes known as "Sacred Lot", are a long standing Japanese tradition at Shinto and Buddhist temples. A simple shake of this wooden box mixes the fortunes inside. Then a single wooden stick is allowed to fall out of the small hole in the box. Various fortunes may be written on the stick and vary from blessings to curses!
