An unidentified flying object or UFO, is defined as a perceived object in the sky, not identifiable by standard criteria. However the term is widely used in popular culture to refer more specifically to claimed observations of craft of extraterrestrial origin.

The term "UFO" (or "UFOB") was coined in 1953 by the United States Air Force (USAF) to serve as a catch-all for all such reports. In its initial definition, the USAF stated that a "UFOB" was "any airborne object which by performance, aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features, does not conform to any presently known aircraft or missile type, or which cannot be positively identified as a familiar object." Accordingly, the term was initially restricted to that fraction of cases which remained unidentified after investigation, as the USAF was interested in potential national security reasons and/or "technical aspects"

During the late 1940s and through the 1950s, UFOs were often referred to popularly as "flying saucers" or "flying discs". The term UFO became more widespread during the 1950s, at first in technical literature, but later in popular use.

The Roswell UFO incident (1947) involved New Mexico residents, local law enforcement officers, and the U.S. military, the latter of whom allegedly collected physical evidence from the UFO crash site but is still denyed by authorities!

Aliens or Extraterrestrial life, life which does not originate from Earth have been the subjects of many a modern day Sci fi film with classics like ET and a 1979 film by Ridley Scott, with many variations on what we consider aliens might look like.

One of the popular concepts are the "grey's" because of there grey skinned appearance, and are normally portrayed with slight built bodies and large heads but to date we still have no proof of thier existance.

But "the truth is out there" and SETI have been looking for a few decades now, so maybe one day in the near future in a galaxy far far away we will discover the truth.
