Natural and Social Sciences Project subjects have study objects in the form of concrete objects found in nature and are developed based on empirical experience, namely real experiences felt by everyone and have systematic steps and use a logical way of thinking. Learning begins with the presentation of problems in the context of daily life guided through trigger questions. Students are invited to get to know and explore natural phenomena related to themselves and their surrounding environment. It is hoped that the emergence of phenomena that are close to life can trigger students to learn more meaningfully so that they can find solutions with high benefits.

There are six chapters of IPAS Project material which are prepared based on guidelines for the implementation and development of the Independent Curriculum. The application of the characteristics of the Merdeka Curriculum can be seen in each chapter, where the learning process for the Science Project material is applied in learning using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model which integrates several content/material elements. The Natural and Social Sciences Project consists of three competency elements which refer to scientific literacy competencies, namely explaining phenomena scientifically, designing and evaluating scientific investigations, translating data and evidence scientifically.
