This proposal offers to the public a free smartphone app. The APP, developed locally, will allow users quick access to a personalized and interactive lake or river map that is linked to the user’s phone’s GPS capacity. Users, fishing or boating on the lake or waterway, will open the ECRLS APP, search the data base for descriptions and images and waypoint their location. That information will be uploaded to a server, along with other users’ data to build a rich database of waypoints locating invasive species, non invasive species, amphibians, birds, fish and mammals that frequent that lake or waterway. The collected data will be available for other agencies for analysis and action.
