Fire Blight

Fire blight, caused by the bacterial pathogen Erwinia amylovora, is a severe bacterial disease of pome fruit that can quickly destroy whole plants. This app is built to efficiently inform farmers, forestry services and private persons about the instances and dangers of fire blight, the correct way to recognize the symptoms, and the methods of disease control. It further provides a tool for the reporting of fire blight sightings. With this citizen science approach a more precise field monitoring can be implemented.
