S Durai Senthilkumar, ‘Kodi’ is a political thriller starring Dhanush in a dual role for the first time with Trisha playing the female lead. The album starts off on a high-note with ‘Kodi Parakkudha’ that has Santhosh Narayanan's unmistakable signature conversational groove rendered menacingly by Arunraja Kamaraj & Dhanush. Written by Vivek, ‘Ei Suzhali’ by Vijaynarain is a romantic folk melody that you are sure to get instantly hooked onto. ‘Aariraro’, a soul-stirring lullaby in K.S Chitra’s voice emphasizes the unconditional love a mother has for her child. The other romantic number in the album is ‘Sirukki Vaasam’ written by Vivek and rendered by Anand Aravindakshan and Shweta Mohan, a complete contrast to Ei Suzhali. A highly energetic track ‘ Vettu Pottu’ by Shankar Mahadevan is the perfect rustic dance number.
