This app helps users find other people close by that want to participate in group activities

(sports, entertainment, etc.). The user can sign­in with email, Facebook, as well as

Google+. To find nearby activities, a user can search their surroundings with a GPS

radius for other user postings about activities they want to do.

The list of events/activities around the user is presented either as a list in ascending

order of distance from the user or as a map with events labeled with pins that fall within

a radius around the user. Event lists can be filtered by event categories (sports, study,

etc.) so that no listing gets too cluttered with postings. Users can select an event to

participate in and see details about the event including the details of the host and other

participants listed, the location of the event, and the time. Users who select “Attend” on

an event can elect to get notifications (text, push, etc.) about event changes.

Users can also choose to host an event by creating a new event posting. A hosting user

details the event’s category, location, and time for the event and can see when other

users choose to attend their event. Once at an event, the host can choose to take

attendance of the other users at the event by initiating a roll­call via Bluetooth through

the app. All users, hosting or not, can see the distance of other participants from the

event they’re participating in, so everyone can see when others are making their way to

the event.

Our app emphasizes transparency and visibility to minimize safety concerns and

encourage social interaction and growth.
