Singing since the age of 10, People's Artist Thu Hien has nearly 50 years of singing. Her singing has soared on the battlefields of fierce smoke bombs.

Her real name is Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien. During her time at the battlefield she also had the nickname Thanh Hong. She was born in Dong Hung, Thai Binh, Dao Xa, Thanh Thuy, Phu Tho.
