Wisp 2.8.5 — the pairing code recovers faster.

  • Coming back to Wisp now re-checks a code marked "Local only" straight away, instead of leaving it unconfirmed for up to two minutes after you switch apps.
  • If you are offline, that check runs quietly in the background and never holds up a transfer.

Wisp 2.8.4 — QR pairing fixes and fewer permissions.

  • Wisp no longer asks for Microphone or Storage access. The QR scanner's camera library declared them for video recording, which Wisp never does.
  • The camera no longer stays black the first time you scan a QR code after granting camera permission.
  • The scan frame now matches the area actually being read, so a code lined up inside the box scans reliably.

Wisp 2.8 — an interrupted receive picks up where it stopped.

  • A receive cut short by a dropped connection now resumes: only the missing part is sent again, not the whole file
  • When a transfer does break, Wisp says the connection was lost and lets you try again, instead of raw technical text
  • The receive code stops reading "Ready" when nothing can confirm it — it says "Local only", and the code stays on screen
  • Warning messages are legible in dark mode

  Wisp 2.7.1 — receiving, fixed.

  • An incoming request appears the moment it arrives, instead of after a pause
  • A transfer that finished now says so, instead of looking cancelled
  • Receiving a file you already have is instant and leaves no duplicate
  • Cancel always takes effect, even before the sender has started
  • Wisp warns when its cache passes 500 MB, and clears it in one tap
  • The footer links to the browser version, for devices that can't install Wisp

Wisp 2.7 — trusted devices, no more tapping Accept.
  • Mark a device as trusted and its incoming files are accepted automatically — no prompt
  • One master switch in Settings turns auto-accept off any time
  • Turn it on per device, or right from an incoming transfer

  - Sending on Android reads files in place — nothing is copied first
  - Receiving writes straight to its destination
  - A copy that can't fit is refused instead of filling the phone
  - Browser receiving streams to disk, not into the tab
  - Android share fixes: large Photos selections arrive, long transfers aren't killed

Wisp 2.0 — an important compatibility update.

⚠️ The transfer protocol changed, so 2.0 can't connect to older versions. Update Wisp on BOTH devices to keep sending and receiving.

  • Clear "incompatible version" notice, with a tip to update
  • Real reasons and fix-it hints when a transfer doesn't complete
  • Cancel a transfer right from the connecting screen
  • Faster, smoother connection handshake
  • Auto-return home after a send
  • Tidier USB transfer & QR pairing screens
