Yes app is learning everytime, like max levels of noise encountered yet, minimum levels of noise your phone detects. Irrespective of which phone you are using, each having a different type of microphone, it learns on its own by calibrating itself to what is the high noise and what is low noise according to your phone's microphone.

Note: Launch of app stops the service, you have to turn button on again to restart the service(which runs in background).
