このGnostic Manichaean Hymn to Fatについて
偉大さの父神に古代グノーシス主義のキリスト教の賛美歌と祈り。
This app contains an ancient Gnostic Christian hymn and prayer to the Father God of Greatness. A rare text, this Manichaean Scripture is rich in spiritual meaning and significance, and rewarding for study or meditation. In this hymn, Father God is seen as merciful, beneficent, holy, and readily able to fulfill and accomplish any pious wish. A few lines are fragmentary due to the age of the original manuscript, translated into English from the original Parthian.
What is Manichaeism?
Manichaeism was a dualistic religious system with Christian, Gnostic, and pagan elements, founded in Persia in the 3rd century by Manes or Mani (circa 216– circa 276 CE). The system was based on a supposed primeval conflict between light and darkness. The religion spread widely in the Roman Empire and in Asia, and survived in eastern Turkestan (Xinjiang) until the 13th century.
What is Gnosticism?
Gnosticism was a religious movement which traces its roots back to the early Christian Church. It was characterized by a belief in gnosis or esoteric knowledge, through which the spiritual element in man could be released from its bondage in physical matter, and that Jesus Christ was an emissary of God or Supreme Being who enabled the redemption of the human spirit. "Gnosis" is variously interpreted as knowledge, enlightenment, salvation, emancipation, or oneness with God.
