このiExperienceについて

グリフィス大学によって開発された調査プラットフォーム

iExperience is a survey delivery platform application, developed by the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, at Griffith University. In keeping with research protocols approved by the University’s Office of Research, faculty will use data collected from the app for academic research projects only.

Griffith’s Office of Research has approved the administration of surveys to be included on the app that can be triggered by one of two ways: 1) the time of day or 2) passing through a geo-fence.

To be included as a survey participant, users must download the app and enter a 4-digit issued to eligible subjects. Users who access a survey, but who do not have the correct 4-digit code will have any data submitted destroyed. A user needs to press the toggle switch on the desired survey to activate it and enter the code. Once the code is entered, a participant will begin the survey by voluntarily completed a series of demographic questions. Demographic questions are unique to each survey contained on the app. Our approved research protocols require us to allow a participant to accept, postpone, or reject a survey even after he/she agrees to participate.

The Space-Time Budget survey will alert a participant 8 hours after installation and be triggered by three pre-determined time intervals (i.e., 2pm, 10pm, and 6am). The app is designed so that a user who is completing the Space-Time Budget survey is triggered at different times of the day.

This survey will get the user’s location coordinates during the 8 hours prior to a completed survey. This information will be used to validate survey questions about a participant’s location

The Perceptions of Crime survey will use geo-fences on the Gold Coast to initiate surveys to participants. This means location services will be running in the background to monitor the user’s location. There are no more than 20 geo-fences used to trigger the survey. Upon entering a geo-fenced location, the survey participant will be asked to complete a questionnaire. The user’s location is recorded and past along with the survey data.

The Gold Coast Youth Survey will trigger 49 hours after a participant’s acceptance of survey (i.e., the 4-digit code is enter). This survey will get user location coordinates during the hour prior to a completed survey..

In accordance with approved research protocols, if a participant disables a survey, a user’s location information will no longer be tracked.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
