The app is useful to calculate % Metallization, % FeO and % Gangue in the sponge iron based on input values. Efforts have also been made to calculated expected yield in melting furnace. The melting furnace can be induction furnace, arc furnace or any other furnace.

Sponge iron is popularly used to make steel in India. There are other Gulf and Asian countries which use sponge iron to make steel in large quantity. Sponge iron can be coal based or gas based.

The app is based on some mathematical models. The values may fulfill user's requirement or may not. The application may be useful in optimizing the melting operation.
