Textport

Textport makes it extremely easy to copy text onto your phone from an outside source. Need to copy a telephone number or web address from a book or computer screen?

Simply snap a picture of the text and Textport will use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to return the text to your phone that you can then copy, edit and use as you wish.

This app is meant to be simple. Using it requires just 2 easy steps:

1) Take a picture of the text that you want to extract, or load an image from your phone's gallery.

2) Crop the image to refine accuracy (if necessary).

That's it! Textport will then automatically scan your image and detect the text. You now have access to the text on your phone. This text will automatically detect web and e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses. This means that you can take a picture of an address, click on that address from your phone, and your preferred Map application will open with the location. The text is also fully editable.

A few notes about Textport:

- Textport will automatically save your last 50 text extractions.

- This app was made to be simple, quick, and easy to use. As such, Textport does not format text. You can, however, filter the text by paragraph, sentences, or lines.

- Textport cannot read handwriting or cursive text. Additionally, odd or unique fonts may cause unexpected or inaccurate results.

- OCR works best when the image is clear and well-lit. Dark or blurry images will almost certainly produce errors.
