In 1950, the man rode a 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet from Perth to Sydney, Australia and back again. It covered more than 5,500 miles in just 22 days.

Less than 2 years later, accompanied by his father, Winifred toured the Australian continent. Both covered nearly 10,000 miles in 65 days and battled temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius.
