But the full picture is more complicated, and worth understanding before you rush to a BAT-BMS APK download or, worse, try to replicate what those viral videos show.

    What Is BAT-BMS?

    BAT-BMS is a Bluetooth battery management system monitor app developed by Shenzhen Grenergy Technology Co., Ltd. It's free, available on both Android and iOS, and designed to pair with smart Bluetooth lithium batteries. Only specific batteries. The ones that use Grenergy's BMS hardware and have Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) built in.

    The BAT-BMS app's core job is to replace a standalone battery monitor. Once paired, your phone shows real-time data from the battery pack: state of charge (SOC), total voltage, charge and discharge current, individual cell voltages, cycle count, and temperature. The thousands who shared and replicated it turned a warning into a how-to.
