    Genshin Impact 6.5: Release date

The 6.5 version went live on April 8, 2026 for most regions. Beebom lists the rollout as 11:00 AM CST on April 8 for non-NA servers, while North America received it earlier on April 7 at 8:00 PM PST. Game8 also confirms the patch released on April 8, 2026.

    Genshin Impact 6.5: Maintenance rewards

Players who meet the Adventure Rank requirement receive 420 Primogems as maintenance compensation. Game8 adds that if HoYoverse needs to issue additional fixes, players can receive 300 more Primogems on top of the base compensation. That means the total can reach 720 Primogems in some cases, though the extra amount is not guaranteed.

Genshin Impact 6.5: New character Linnea

Linnea is a 5-star Geo bow user whose kit centers on coordinated attacks with her companion Lumi, making her a strong fit for Lunar-Crystallize teams and Geo-focused setups.

Her combat style does more than deal damage. She can support the party with healing, reduce nearby enemies’ Geo resistance, and interact with the new update’s Lunar mechanics in a way that gives her both offensive and utility value.

Linnea also has exploration utility. Her Charged Attack can capture certain creatures, and Lumi helps with ore gathering, giving her practical value outside of battle as well.

Genshin Impact 6.5: Windrest Peak and Temple of Space

Version 6.5 expands Mondstadt with two new locations: Windrest Peak and Temple of Space. These areas broaden the region’s map and give players new terrain to explore, new routes to uncover, and more rewards to collect.

Temple of Space is the more system-heavy of the two. It introduces the Memory Core feature, where players collect Memory Factors from exploration and chests to unlock rewards and deepen the area’s lore.

The update also adds new fishing points and Radiant Spincrystals in the expanded regions. That makes the patch more than a simple story drop, since it gives completionists and collectors plenty of extra goals.

Genshin Impact 6.5: Story content and quests

Luna VI brings new story content tied to Linnea and the new Mondstadt expansion. The patch includes new quests that help frame the area additions and connect the update’s lore with its gameplay systems.

This matters because the update is structured like a regional chapter rather than a small character banner patch. The new quests are part of what gives the version its identity, and they help justify the new map space and Temple of Space mechanics.

The result is a patch that feels more narrative-driven than usual. Instead of only adding a character and event cycle, Version 6.5 uses exploration and quest design to create a fuller Mondstadt expansion.

Genshin Impact 6.5: Combat changes and boss content

Version 6.5 adds a new world boss, Watcher: Fallen Vigil. New boss fights usually matter because they shape how players farm materials for the newest character and how they experience endgame progression.

The Spiral Abyss also receives adjustments in this update. The enemy lineup and combat emphasis lean toward Lunar-Crystallize and normal or charged attack damage, which suggests the developers are steering the meta toward the patch’s new mechanics and featured character.

Genshin Impact 6.5: Weapons and rewards

Linnea’s debut is paired with a new 5-star event-exclusive bow, Golden Frostbound Oath. As usual for a major character release, the signature weapon is meant to complement the featured unit’s playstyle and strengthen the banner’s appeal.

The version also includes a full event rotation with Primogem rewards and other progression materials. While the articles do not present every reward detail in one place, both sources frame the patch as a content-rich version with multiple ways to earn materials.

For players, this means the update is not just about one new character. It is also an opportunity to stock up on resources, clear limited-time content, and prepare for future banners or builds.

    Genshin Impact 6.5: Quality-of-life updates

Beyond the headline content, the patch includes several useful system improvements. One notable change is improved auto-add behavior for enhancement and leveling, which now accounts for available Mora more intelligently.

The update also brings UI and translation refinements. These changes may not be as flashy as a new region, but they improve the day-to-day experience for players navigating menus, upgrading characters, and managing inventory.

Version 6.5 also touches Miliastra Wonderland and Genius Invokation TCG. Balance adjustments, including changes to cards such as Void Rift, suggest the developers are continuing to refine side modes alongside the main open-world content.
