PUBG Mobile 3.8 Release Date
There are rumors that PUBG Mobile 3.8 update will roll out on May 6 across multiple platforms. The leaks showcase that players will face something giant and old, something that dominated time of the 1980s in Europe! And the new leaked theme mode was later confirmed by the Beta PUBG Mobile official team in their official blog, and there's a sketch drawing as evidence:

New Steampunk Theme & Key Features
The first beta of the PUBG Mobile 3.8 update started on April 3! Come join the testers and have a taste of some experimental features that may come to the official game in the near future.

New Steampunk Frontier Mode
The classic Erangel map in the PUBG Mobile beta playground has been transformed into a NEW STEAMPUNK style. According to PUBG Mobile Leakers, the inspiration came from the steampunk cityscape of the Japanese anime "Attack on Titan".
The new themed mode in PUBG 3.8 titled "Steampunk Frontier" is now open to all PUBG Mobile beta game players, bringing a stunning retro and modern flair twist. Participants will witness a large, magnifico "SteamWorld" crammed with innovative steam-style structures, buildings, skins, movement mechanics, and gadgets.
New Area
Aetherholm
- A large train station located in the center of Erangel, covering an area of 50 acres or so.
- On the train platform, passengers can find recreational facilities such as the Luck Cog Machine.
- The elevator in the main building is a secret passway connecting the train station and the Erangel clock tower. It will lead you to a secret room where you may find some valuable loot.
- Trains in the 3.8 beta can be summoned. Trigger the Summon feature and a Cargo Train will come to pick you up at the Center Station and send you to explore other playable areas. (It works like summoning live vehicles Panda in 3.6 and Desert Camel in 3.7.)
New POIs
Cargo Hub
- A transit station connecting urban and rural areas through train tracks.
Train Platform
- A small train station in rural areas.
Rollercoaster Checkpoint
- Rollercoaster in the 3.8 beta will surely give you an adrenaline rush! Share your location and invite your friends to enjoy a heart-pumping ride along with you!
- The Rollercoaster is also a nice strategic viewpoint. When it climbs to the top, remember to capture some screenshots to record some details of your surrounding environment. If you're lucky, you may even find one or two hide spots for sneak attacks.
New Vehicles
The train network spreads through areas. Passengers can jump off at different stops to seek battles or supplies.
Giant Steam Trains
The introduction of Steam trains adds a new layer of strategic fun to PUBG. Take aboard on a Steam train to:
- Join up with your squad in the CENTER at a faster speed.
- Hide in a secret spot when the other players have not arrived.
- Escape with a speed boost when the shrinking wall almost catches you.
Trains in 3.8 beta are all steam-engine-powered. Epoch Cargo Train mainly transports cargo, and Express Train passengers only.
- Epoch Cargo Train stops at Aetherholm to discharge the weapon and item supplies. And It can be summoned to the Center Train Station.
- Express Train does not pass the Aetherholm train station and it can not be summoned. Running in a large loop on its designated route in the peripheral, it passes the Cargo Hub and different stops. Take aboard on the Express and you can find a lounge room for a rest and the Driver's Cab with a mechanical cache.
Hot Air Balloons
- A red-and-white air balloon with a steampunk art style.
- Find Hot Air Balloons in Aerial observation stations built in the wilderness or along the railway. You can take on board an Air Balloon there.
- Air Balloon jump with a glider brings some WOW fun to PUBG. The high-attitude jumps from an Air Ballon will expand your flying time in the air!
New Supply Crates
As usual, wooden crates are dropped on the battlefield. Break the case and you may have a chance to acquire some supplies. Apart from the regular wooden crates, more supply crates are put in the train station and on the trains.
Driver's Cab

- Cargo Train: Supplies are placed in the Steam Supply Crate, and they are auto-replenished.
- Express Train: Before grabbing the supplies, you need to solve a clockwork puzzle first.
Clockwork Attendant
Find Clockwork Attendant and you find DRINKS. And energy, health, and buffs.
- Clockwork Attendants are built in the Center Station and on the trains.
- Tokens are required for drink purchasing.
Clockwork Merchant
Shops in PUBG Mobile 3.8 beta are designed and built in a steampunk style, with a steampunk name - "Clockwork Merchant".
- Clockwork Merchant sells different types of supplies, including machine guns, gears, and many other equipment.
- You can find it at Cargo Hub and Aetherholm.
Lucky Cog Machine
- Use your tokens for a lucky draw on the Cog Machine! See if you can draw an epic weapon or item.
New Items
New items will give you super boosts in 3.8 beta: 1. Grappling hooks enable you to glide among walls with ease! 2. Transformation serum wins you a strength edge. Drink it and you'll grow a larger size, like the giant in the anime "Attack of Titan".
Mechanical Grappling Hooks
- Mechanical Hooks facilitate your rapid movement across the map.
- Discover it from crates or purchase it from merchants. If you're lucky, you may just spot it on the ground, left behind by someone else.
Giant Transformation Serum
- The Serum helps briefly enlarge your size, transforming you into a giant. The transformation not only gives you an altitude strength but also a large enhancement to your health and mobility.
Classic Mode Updates
A new HP Sharing feature is introduced in Classic Mode, enhancing teamplay dynamics.
Sticky Bomb
- Unlock more strategic explosive experience with Sticky Bomb. New changes happened to its usage in the 3.8 beta - it can now stick on walls or vehicles.
- It can now make better performance in an ambush or when you aim at a moving target.
Spare Tire
- It helps with a quick tire change.
Motorcycle Driver’s Seat Firing
- Experience cool one-handed gun firing while driving a motorcycle.
PUBG Mobile x Attack on Titan Collab
There are rumors that a new IP collaboration is probably coming to the 3.8 update. A part of Titan-inspired gameplay mechanics like the giant transformation serum are now available in the beta game. Players can look forward to more related anime-themed map changes released with the full update.
