Hamburg – Historical Atlas pro

This unique app takes you for a virtual promenade through the historic Hamburg!

The app is based on the maps from

Atlas zur Geschichte Hamburgs (Atlas on the History of Hamburg)

by Ernst Heinrich Wichmann.

Published by Herold'sche Buchhandlung, Hamburg 1889.

The Atlas comprises six maps (for the years 1150, 1200, 1250, 1550, 1650 und 1830) which are all presented by this app.

The historical maps can be used offline, i.e. without an Internet connection.

A today's map (the OpenStreetMap) can be displayed to compare the maps of the atlas with the present situation.

If you are inside the area of the historical atlas the app determines your location and shows it on the map.
