Brawl Stars July update centers on the Ramen Rebellion theme, a fast-moving seasonal refresh built around new rewards, new bosses, new brawlers, and a major balance shake-up. It introduces a lot of moving parts, but the main idea is simple: Supercell is pushing the game into a noodle-shop themed event arc with fresh progression systems and more competitive event content.

    New "Ramen Rebellion" Theme

The update is framed around a conflict between a new automated ramen shop and the sushi shop tied to Kenji and Kaze, with Nori at the center of the story. Supercell says the July update content unfolds across two connected seasons, making the July update feel more like a full event chapter than a single patch. That means the update is not only about new characters, but also about new ways to earn rewards and play special modes.

    New Drop Rewards

The patch adds two new drop systems:

    • NanoDrops
    • Smoothie Drops

NanoDrops are tied to the first season and can be earned from Daily Wins, Mega Quests, Boss Fights, Side Quests, Contests, and Creator QR codes. Smoothie Drops are part of the second season and are earned through Daily Wins, Mega Quests, Topple the Tower, Side Quests, and Creator QR codes.

These drops are more than simple loot boxes because they feed directly into the update’s seasonal progression. NanoDrops give players 3 picks from 5 cups, which adds a small choice mechanic to rewards. Smoothie Drops are linked to the Fusion system, so they support the second half of the update’s gameplay loop.

    New Powers and Fusions

The July update also introduces NanoPowers, which are part of the first season’s special progression layer. These powers are designed to fit the ramen/nano theme and help define the seasonal meta rather than just serving as cosmetic extras. In the second season, the game shifts into Fusions, giving players another progression system to chase.

This kind of split-season design matters because it keeps the patch from feeling static. Instead of one reward track, players get a staged rollout of mechanics that change how matches and event rewards work over time. In practical terms, it gives the July update a longer lifespan and more reasons to return each week.

    New Mode and Title

The headline new mode is Topple the Tower, a five-floor challenge where players build a team from a limited Brawler pool and try to clear the full structure. The mode is meant to feel like a test of consistency and adaptation, since the available Brawlers are restricted and each floor becomes a new hurdle. Clearing the tower rewards players with the “Unbeatable” title, which gives the mode a clear prestige payoff.

    • Five floors make the mode a compact but intense challenge.
    • Team-building is restricted by a limited Brawler pool.
    • Players who clear the full tower earn the Unbeatable title.
    • Smoothie Drops are connected to this second-season mode loop.

    New Brawlers

Two new brawlers arrive with the update:

    • Nori
    • Wendy

Nori is a Legendary Assassin, while Wendy is a Mythic Support. That combination gives the update both an aggressive new option and a support-focused one, which helps the roster feel more balanced across playstyles.

    Nori

Nori is built around fishing, mobility, and fish-themed attacks. The character’s design fits the ramen theme well because the brawler feels fast, slippery, and highly thematic. As an Assassin, Nori is likely aimed at players who like quick engages, burst damage, and smart positioning.

    Wendy

Wendy is a support brawler with shield-based utility and team help tools. Supercell describes her as having water-walking style movement and protective abilities, which makes her sound more defensive and team-oriented than Nori. In a meta filled with aggressive threats, that kind of support kit can be especially valuable.

    New Bosses

The update also adds three bosses:

    • Nori
    • Tara
    • Brock

These are presented as nano-infused boss fights, each with a different combat identity. Nori’s boss version leans into fish attacks, Tara uses clone-style tricks, and Brock brings rocket pressure.

That gives the event a stronger PvE side than a normal season update. Boss fights create another reason to log in, especially for players who enjoy short challenge-based encounters instead of only ladder matches. It also reinforces the update’s theme by turning familiar characters into amplified versions of themselves.

    Hypercharges and Buffs

Two new Hypercharges arrive in the update:

    • Starr Nova:The Hypercharge
    • Bowling Bolt

Hypercharges usually matter because they can shift how a brawler’s strongest moments play out, so these additions are likely to affect both casual and competitive play. Supercell is also refreshing the older roster through a set of Buffies updates.

    The Buffies list includes:

    • Rico
    • Brock
    • 8-Bit
    • Meg
    • Max
    • Surge

These changes are important because they give older brawlers a chance to stay relevant in the new season cycle. In a live-service game, buffs often matter as much as new content because they decide which characters players actually bring into events and ranked matches.

    New Seasons and Skins

    Two New seasons are:

    • NanoNoodles
    • Windstock

NanoNoodles looks like the more tech-and-food focused half of the update, while Windstock appears to shift toward a different visual identity and reward path. Together, they make the July update feel broad rather than limited to one event.

The skin lineup also expands with themed cosmetics, including the Adidas collaboration skin Adidas Ash. Supercell's seasonal skin design usually helps define the look of each update, and this patch follows that pattern by pairing gameplay changes with strong visual branding. That makes the update feel complete, not just mechanically updated.

    Balance changes

Beyond the headline features, the update includes a broad balance patch. Buffs go to brawlers such as Piper, Mandy, Gale, Barley, Carl, and R-T, while nerfs hit Mortis, Colette, Crow, Leon, Chester, Edgar, Ruffs, Shade, Lumi, Najia, Pierce, and Bolt. This is the kind of tuning that can reshape the ladder and event meta very quickly.

The balance pass matters because it supports the rest of the patch. New modes and new characters often create power spikes, so tuning the wider roster helps keep the update from becoming dominated by just a few picks. The June 30 maintenance break was used to prepare these changes and the new content for launch.
