Since 2008, Intoleran (previously Disolut) has provided a range of food supplements to assist people living with a food intolerance. We view these as part of a holistic approach to food intolerance, including consultation with your doctor or dietitian.

The majority of our products are taken at the time of the meal or drink to help digest component(s) of trigger foods and avoid symptoms of food intolerance. We have a smaller range taken regularly to offer support, or can be added to food/drink prior.

Does Monash FODMAP Certification mean they are directly recommending I take this product since I have this intolerance?

No, Monash FODMAP Certification is not Monash recommending directly you take this product if you have the stated intolerance. Rather, Monash Certification means:

- our products and their ingredients are tested to not contain any FODMAP triggers

- they are tested to ensure that the ingredients we state and in the amounts we state are verified by the laboratory analysis

- while they do not directly recommend therapeutic goods, they do assess our ingredients, dosages and indications for use, plus our clinical data and supporting studies which we list on our home page and can be found here. There is comfort in knowing that Monash would not certify a product unless it has sound indications.

Additionally, Monash FODMAP has posted a blog on digestive enzymes specifically mentioning our brand, and we link to that on our homepage and you can find it here. We have always supported that same stance Monash has, that supplementation is something best recommended by your dietitian or doctor. We encourage all those interested in our products to make sure you have consulted with a dietitian or doctor to ensure you are accurately diagnosed, and we see Disolut products as part of the toolbox along with diet and lifestyle changes - not a replacement for those actions.

Is it correct you advertise with their logo even though you say it isn't a recommendation to have them?

We have been asked this once by a customer once, so felt important to address. Much like the above, to gain this certification, our products have to be laboratory tested for accuracy in the ingredients and quantities stated, and ensuring no ingredients are FODMAP triggers. It may be surprising to know, but some supplements for the gut can treat one issue, but can have triggers for other issues, which is a problem for persons with multiple intolerances.

Secondly, while not a direct recommendation, as mentioned above, Monash do consider the reasoning and clinical justification behind what we state our products can be used for, and the results a customer can expect.

Our clinical studies and evidence used in arriving at the formulations used and our active ingredients were reviewed by Monash at the start of our submission for certification of the selected products. It is honest to say while yes, Monash do not take a stance on recommending use of supplements, this is their general stance on supplementation as they leave this to a dietitan (or doctor) to guide patients on a case by case patients, they would not certifiy a product that does not meet sound clinical reasoning.
