There are three main factors that need to be considered in choosing a prime quality koi. The important thing is not in a hurry to make choices. a. Body shape

- Choose koi with ideal body shape. Notice the ratio between body height and body length. Ideally, the comparison is 1: 2, 3-3.

- When viewed from above, the back line looks straight alias is not curved.

- Choose a koi with a calm and balanced swimming style.

- Pectoral fins and stomach fins should be the same. Meanwhile, the size of the dorsal fin and the caudal fin should be proportional to height and body length.

- Shape of head, eyes, mouth, and gills should be proportional or harmonious.

b. Colors and Patterns

- Choose brilliant colors and contrast.

- The encounter between red and white must be sharply bound, no gradations or red shadows.

c. Health

- Avoid picking koi that look lethargic.

- Gills that move quickly indicate the fish are having difficulty breathing.

- Pili koi is upright.

- Avoid koi who always aloof or away from his friends.
