Muse Headband App Guide - There are a growing number of smart gadgets available designed to help you determine when your body is experiencing stress, fatigue, an all-out panic attack, or other mental states that are less than optimal. While it might be obvious to your brain when your body is experiencing a problem, you might not have the psychological or technological tools to help remedy the situation. That’s where the Muse S brain-sensing headband comes in

Using a series of sensors, the Muse S (second generation) is a headband that not only helps determine when psychological and physical problems within your body arise, but it also provides biofeedback tools and guidance (in the form of guided medications, for example) to help you combat stress and overcome fatigue by helping you sleep better at night

Using a series of built-in sensors, the Muse S headband offers EEG-powered meditation and sleep support by measuring and analyzing your level of brain activity, heart rate and breath simultaneously. In other words, this one headband can be used for several mental and physical health-related purposes, including as a sleep monitor and tracker, as well as a meditation tool

The sensors that connect to your forehead and to the skin behind and above your ears are located on the inside of the headband and are not visible from the outside while it’s being worn

Each time you participate in a meditation, the Muse S will preform a Signal Quality Check, which is displayed on the app as a full circle that’s divided into five sections. When all sections are filled with color, you know a strong connection between your head, the headband, and the app has been established, and the selected meditation will begin

If you run into a problem using the Muse S, technical support by telephone is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only, between 9:30am and 5pm (EST). Email-based assistance is also available

Each meditation features a calm voice guiding you through the process. This is accompanied by sound effects that utilize spatial audio to create a sense that the nature or whatever you're hearing surrounds you. In some cases, immersive music is used as well

Each time you use Muse S, you’ll need to use your own headphones or earbuds. It is essential that you choose an option that’s extremely comfortable on or in your ears, and if possible, that support both noise cancellation and spatial (3D) audio

I tested both the Apple AirPods Pro and the OnePlus Buds Z2 earbuds paired to an iPhone to use the Muse S and both worked perfectly, although when it came to being able to relax with the earbuds in place, the OnePlus Buds Z2 proved to be more comfortable
