General Information Namaz

Salah or Salat, meaning "prayer," "supplication," "blessing," and "praise," also known as Namaz, is the second of the five pillars of the Islamic faith, standardized as daily obligatory prayers. It is a physical, mental and spiritual act of worship performed five times a day at prescribed times. Facing the Kaaba in Mecca, Muslims pray first standing and later kneeling or sitting on the ground, reciting from the Quran and glorifying and praising Allah, while bowing and prostrating in between. Ritual purity is a prerequisite for this.
