Private Teaching Aide

This is an offline app, track your students lessons, contact information, expenses, and more!

This app is designed to be self contained and non intrusive for a single teacher with a small amount of students. Therefore, the app does not look at your contacts, it does not access your calendar, and will not send emails automatically.

Main features

- Current in English, with Spanish support in the near future.

- Light and Dark mode support.

- Swipe to delete data.

- The starting screen has two tabs, your current students for the day and your upcoming students for the next two weeks.

- You can track various student information including student details, multiple contact information, student lessons and student invoices.

- Contacts are independent of the student, therefore you can link a single contact to multiple students. For example, if you're teaching a family.

- As you get more and more data, you have the ability to set default date ranges for seeing data such as lessons and invoices so that you don't see past years unless you explicitly ask to see them.

- Optionally track your expenses.

Backup, restore & exporting your data

- We believe your data, is. your. data.

- Therefore you can manually backup and restore your data to your Drive account. This is useful if you upgrade your phone or it gets damaged or lost.

- An optional back up reminder in the settings, this feature is defaulted off. The app must be running for the reminder to appear.

- Exporting data will zip all of your data into Comma Separated Files (CSV file) and allow your to share that file. This is useful if you want to do additional analysis through Excel, such as graphing and trending of your data.

Deleting your data

- You can delete your data in the app just in case you want to clear your data without uninstalling the app. Don't worry, you have to go through multiple steps to delete your database so you don't accidently do it.

Notable things that the app does not do:

- There is no audit trail, this app is not designed to be a replacement for your accounting process.

- It does not create invoices or receipts in the app. This is under review to see if there is a need. Currently if you need this you can export your data to CSV and create these in Excel/Word.

- It does not automatically backup your databases. This is also under review but there are no promises.

- There are no notifications outside of the app. The current expectation is that you review the app daily to see which students you are scheduled to teach.

- Unfortunately due to current limitations in Flutter we cannot create home or lock screen widgets, if this changes in the future we will investigate this feature.
