RNOL ebooks

The four RNOL ebooks in this app include a retelling of the Yoruba creation story, a preparation of "Ori" (our Inner Sanctum) with Inner Workings, and 70 insightful observations (in English and Yoruba) about using our awareness, motivation, compassion and assurance to understand our issues with our identity, power, connection and destiny, and have Iwa Pele.

The ancients believed that our ancestors existed in the mental world (i.e. our mind), and that it was possible to have them as mentors when a space was properly prepared in our mind to receive them.

The Inner Sanctum was the name given to this space that was prepared in our mind, also referred to as “Ori”. And, it was considered that the state of our Ori determined the happiness that we could achieve in life. i.e. Iwa Pele.

They observed that there were four questions which caused us the most conflict and suffering but if properly understood, gave us peace and brought about our greatest joy. It was on these four questions that they sought mentoring.

The four questions were:

Who am I?

What do I want?

What do I need?

What is my life about?

The answers that the ancients uncovered were:

AWARENESS (Who am I?)

MOTIVATION (What do I want?)

COMPASSION (What do I need?)

ASSURANCE (What is my life about?)

But, it was not enough to know the answers. An understanding, which came from a personal experience of the questions, was necessary to forge our personal truth which facilitated Iwa Pele.

Our mind had to be properly prepared to receive the awareness, motivation, compassion and assurance necessary to understand, and hence fully profit from our experiences.

They devised a system to present our personal truths to mentors (great ancestors) for guidance and understanding; this internal system was called the Inner Workings.

The primary aim of the Inner Sanctum and the Inner Workings was to inspire the mentee to overcome our challenges to Iwa Pele.

The Iwa Pele RNOL ebooks includes; IWA PELE: A Rhetorical Note on the History of the Yoruba Culture, which details in chapter six, the preparation of the Inner Sanctum with Inner Workings, and 70 notes (observations, personal truths) in English and Yoruba, on Awareness, Motivation, Compassion and Assurance.

The Iwa Pele RNOL chapters includes; Our gods and great ancestors, Ile-ife (the state of love), Our two watchers, Folk tales and Our history.

Iwa Pele is an ancestral legacy. A gift that we can receive for ourselves and share with others, by having a greater understanding of our challenges (Who we are, What we want, What we need and What our life is about) and being properly prepared to enjoy our life.
