Voluntunity is a mobile app designed to connect volunteers to nearby organisations who need help. Users are shown a map with nearby volunteering opportunities marked. They can filter this list by interests and the relevant opportunities will show up on the map. Users can then select an opportunity to see short description of the organisation and what the opportunity entails, scheduling details, and a list of skills required as well as a link to the organisation's signup page. We have come up with a system where organisations rate the reputation and performance of each volunteer. This reputation score is tied to each user. For the organisations that actually host these opportunities, we will have a web interface to let them manage the opportunities they publish. From there, they can review the users that have sign ed up for each opportunity by looking at their reputation score and their list of skill-sets. After volunteers have finished their stints, organisations can rate them based on their performance. Organisations can also look for volunteers by searching for them. After filtering for skill-set and reputation, they will be shown potential volunteers' contact information. Volunteers and organisations have trouble connecting with each other, which is why we made this app. In future, we can work with MOE to integrate this for Values In Action tracking, as well as for volunteer organisations to streamline their registration process.
