His honor was alive in 1956, when Syria honored him by awarding him the Medal of Merit, the Medal of Cedar from Lebanon, and the Golden Medal from Malaysia.

A medal from Senegal, another from Morocco, and the last honor he received was before his departure from President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak at the celebration of Laylat al-Qadr in 1987.
