What do you know about food sustainability? How healthy is the food that we eat every day? What about you? Do you eat environmentally friendly foods? All this and much more in this app!

Have you ever heard the word “sustainable”?

Our planet is asking for help! We are exploiting it far more than it can produce and we are thus destroying it. This is because the world population is increasing and there are no signs of stopping its vertiginous growth. There are 7 billion of us on the earth today, so more and more food is needed to feed all of us. In fact, 2 billion people out of the 7 billion people in the world are undernourished or malnourished, because they are starving or not eating balanced meals.

Sustainablity” and “eating healthily” are the key words of this app; it will:

-Help you understand how much you know about the sustainability of what you eat thanks to the “How much do you know?” quiz

-Teach you more about the healthiness and sustainability of the food products that you consume every day, thanks to the information sections on “Eating healthy and sustainable”, “Food waste” and lots more

-Show you what the best foods are thanks to our “Food traffic-light” section

-Give you a collection of tasty and sustainable recipes of characteristic specialties from the Italian region of the Marche where the city of Urbino is located – all dishes you can make for special and healthy lunches or dinners with your family or friends!

-Be able to watch a video, specifically created for this app, about the impact what we eat has every day on our planet’s precious biodiversity and environment. (The video is in Italian)

Bon AppEtEat was developed by the students of various classes from the Liceo Scientifico “L. Laurana” and the Liceo Classico “R. Sanzio” of Urbino especially for the contest dedicated to Expo 2015 held in Milano. We would like to thank the principals, the teachers and the students from both schools who participated in the creation of our app.
