Boruto Uzumaki (Japanese: う ず ま き ボ ル ト Hepburn: Uzumaki Boruto), originally spelled by Viz Media as "Bolt", is a fictional character created by mangaka Masashi Kishimoto, who first appeared at the end of the story from the Naruto manga series as son of the main character and protagonist of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga. He later appeared as the main character in the 2015 anime film Boruto: Naruto the Movie, where he trained as a ninja to surpass his father, Konohagakure ninja village leader. Boruto also plays the protagonist in Boruto's manga and anime series: Naruto Next Generations. In the manga, the story begins with a retelling of the film Boruto, while the anime starts from his childhood in the ninja academy where he meets his future colleagues — Sarada Uchiha and Mitsuki — as well as his teacher, Konohamaru Sarutobi.
