Dog breeds with the shortest life expectancy

According to a new study, flat-faced dog breeds such as French Bulldogs and Pugs have the shortest

life expectancy.

The greater risk of breathing issues, skin fold infections, and spinal disease that brachycephalic dogs

endure, according to doctors at the Royal Veterinary College, causes them to live shorter lives.

Despite record-high puppy registrations for flat-faced dogs in 2020, experts are urging people to

think twice before purchasing a dog with a short nose.

Pug (around 7.65)

American Bulldog (around 7.79)

Husky (around 9.53)

Beagle (around 9.85)

Dog breeds with the longest life expectancy

Dogs of smaller breeds have a longer lifespan. Yorkshire terriers, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Toy Poodles,

and Lhasa Apsos are the breeds with the longest lifespans, with some living up to 20 years. This is

a significant increase.
