PickiMicki

PickiMicki is a simple location sharing app that respects your privacy. No registration is required and no personal data is stored anywhere. You can simply create your random and anonymous 12-character ID and share it with your friends or family. But please be careful with your ID because anyone who knows it will be able to see your last shared location.

PickiMicki is especially useful if you're on a hike alone and want to let someone know where you are. Or when you want to meet someone and can't exactly describe where you are.

Create Your ID

When you set up the app, you should first create your ID. Tap on 'Manage Your ID' under the 'Share' tab and create a new random ID. You can share this ID with your friends and family by tapping on the 'Share ID' button. This shows the standard sharing options of your device and you can send the ID with your personal email account or simply text it.

Please notice that the PickiMicki app does not collect or store any information about you or your phone or your email account. You can delete your anonymous ID anytime and create a new one. Because no personal information is stored, you will have to create and share a new ID whenever you change your phone or re-install the app. Close the 'Manage Your ID' page by tapping on 'Close' at the bottom.

Share Your Location

Share your current location by first tapping on 'Start GPS' under the 'Share' tab. Once you get a satellite fix, you can tap on 'Share Location'. The GPS sensor is automatically switched off and your location appears in the 'Last Shared Location' panel. You can delete your last shared location anytime or you can show it on your default map app by tapping on 'Show On Map'.

By tapping on the location label either in the 'Current Location' or the 'Last Shared Location' panel, you can open up the standard sharing options of your device and share the location with people who don't have the PickiMicki app installed.

Find Location

If you get a PickiMicki ID from a friend or family member who wants to share their location with you, you can add it to your contacts under the 'Find' tab. Tap on 'Add ID' at the bottom, enter a name and the 'case-sensitive ID' or simply copy and paste it from the email or text. Tap on 'Find Location' to get the last shared location. You can remove the ID from your contacts list or show the location on your default map app by tapping on 'Show On Map'.

Actions Per Day

Each action like sharing a location or finding the location of a friend or family member puts load on our server. In order to keep the server responsive and our costs in check, we have to limit the number of actions per day for each user. As a new user you initially get 50 actions and then another 5 free actions per day.

If you need more actions, you can tap on 'Manage Your ID' and purchase an additional 20, 50, 100 or 200 actions per day. The PickiMicki app does not collect or sell any personal data nor does it use ads. The in-app purchases guarantee the necessary income to keep our service up and running.
