Rangoli Design

Rangoli is an art, Indian origin where patterns are made on the floor in the living room or courtyard using materials such as colored rice, dried flour, flower petals or flower petals. Usually done during Diwali or Tihar (collectively known as Deepawali), Onam, Pongal and other Indian, Bangladesh and Nepal festivals relating to Hinduism. Designs are passed from one generation to the next, keeping the art form and tradition alive.

The purpose of the rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck. Design depictions may also vary as they reflect tradition, folklore and unique practices for each area. This is traditionally done by women. Generally, this practice is exhibited at moments such as festivals, lucrative shows, wedding celebrations and milestones and other similar meetings. In Nepal, colorful rangoli is made of dyes and lights up at night outside the home and community businesses.

The Rangoli design can be a geometric shape, an impression of a god, or a flower and petal shape (in accordance with the celebration given), but the design can also be very complicated by many people. The basic ingredients are usually dry or wet powdered rice or dried flour, where sindoor (vermilion), haldi (turmeric) and other natural colors can be added. Chemical color is a modern variation. Other materials include colored sand, red brick powder and even flowers and flower petals, as in the case of rangole flowers.
