Songs of Najah Salam

Najah Salam, born March 13, 1931, is the success of Mohieddin Salam, a Lebanese singer and actress. She was famous for her songs in most Arab countries. Mrs. Najah Salam was born in Beirut. Her grandfather, Sheikh Abdel Rahman Salam Mofti of Lebanon. Her father, the artist and writer Mohieddin Salam, one of the leading composers and one of the most prominent and most talented Oud players in Lebanon and the Arab world. And her brother, journalist Abdul Rahman Salam. She learned the origins of singing from her father, whose home was more like an art institute.

The beginning of the singer Ms. Najah Salam singing was through school concerts that were held at the end of each school year. In 1948, her father accompanied her to Cairo, where she was introduced to leading artists such as Umm Kulthum, musician Farid al-Atrash and his sister, singer Asmahan, Sheikh Zakaria Ahmed and others. In 1949 she recorded her first song, "About Ya Ghannam", and the song "My Heart is Grievous," and then she sang singing. She sang in both Aleppo, Damascus and Baghdad, Ramallah. In the beginning of the year 1950 she returned to Lebanon to record some songs for the Lebanese radio, and the first of these songs was "on your stage, Donia." Her film debut was with her first film, "Ali Kavek", with Ms. Leila Fawzi. Her second film was "Ibn Thawat" and in this film she sang the first Lebanese songs in Cairo, such as Barhoum Hakini, Cheb Asmar, and others. Then she starred with Shukri Sarhan and Ismail Yassin, and then the movie "Al-Kasariyat Al-Fatinat" with Karem Mahmoud.
