The tournament's next edition will be held in Australia in October-November 2022, with eight teams competing in the first round. The top four teams from each group will progress to the Super 12 stage, where they will join the already-qualified teams from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa.

The semi-finals will be played on 9 and 10 November, with the final on 13 November.
