There's all sorts of new goodies coming to the game with the Minecraft The Wild update, including several fresh biomes to explore from lush Mangrove swamps to spooky underground cities. New block types will unlock additional crafting and building options, while additional animals provide even more wildlife to populate your world. But watch out, because there's a terrifying new mob lurking underground, just waiting to emerge and hunt you down.

To kick off the Minecraft The Wild update round, we're going to go deeper underground to take a look at the Deep Dark Biome. Down there you'll find ancient cities to explore, which are sure to be scary and have many secrets hidden in the shadows. Be brave and venture into the dark, as there are unique loot to be found there.

In the dark world of Deep Dark you'll find a new material called Sculk, along with a Sculk Catalyst block that causes more Sculk to form when mobs are killed nearby. There's also the Sculk Shrieker block, which emits a terrifying shriek when activated that causes darkness to throb down the area.

However, the scariest thing about this new area of ​​Minecraft 1.19 is the presence of Wardens, who are gigantic monsters that emerge from the ground. You can try to sneak past them in the dark as soon as they appear, but they have a keen sense of smell and will sniff you if you get too close. Keep your distance from the Warden as you search for treasure, as if they caught you, it could quickly be the end of your adventure.

At ground level there are a few more biomes to explore in the Minecraft The Wild update, including Birch forests and swamps filled with Mangrove trees. Mangroves can grow in water, with their roots forming blocks that can spread out to make tunnels underneath, and cutting them down will give you a new type of Mangrove wood.

Swamp also brings a new type of block, as you can add water to a Dirt block to make a Mud block, and by placing a Mud block on top of Dripstone, you can eventually drain the moisture to make a Clay block. You can also make Mud Brick, to give your building a new look.
