Personal life

He was born in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He belongs to an agriculturist family.

He has been a national-level and an out-spoken debater in his school and college life. He remained president of debating and literary societies. He won many national debates competitions. He has also been editor of college magazine. He became fond of reading in the age of 8 or 9 years only. In his teenage, he had read all the available literary work of Asia’s great fictionist Sa’adat Hasan Manto. The poetry of Sahir Ludhianvi, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Habib Jalib had imparted great impression on his thoughts, aptitude and behavior.

Career

Throughout his career he has worked with mainstream national news channels or media houses. He started his career with channel 5 of Khabrain group in March 2009. In May 2010, he joined country’s leading news channel Dunya News as a news anchor. In October 2010, he joined another famous news channel Express News in the same capacity. He covered major breaking news stories across the country from Data Darbar bomb blast, OBL Abbottabad operation, Mehran Base attack, Bannu Jail attack, Air-blue plane crash and from disqualification of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to dozens of other nationally and internationally known events. After serving Express News for almost two years, in mid 2012, he joined Waqt News, part of one of the country's oldest media house, Nawa-i-Waqt, as an Anchor of News and Current Affairs. In August 2014, he became part of Dawn News, country's most prestigious media house.

Before joining Electronic Media, his maiden profession was banking. He served in nationally acclaimed multinational organization, Bank Alfalah Limited for almost four years. When he opted to change his profession and his banking career ended, he was looking after the whole region from Punjab to Interior Sindh as in-charge of fraud and risk management unit.
