★★ Black Clover ★★ is a Japanese fantasy Shōnen manga series The story is centered around a young boy named Asta, who appears to be born without magic powers, something unknown in the world where he lives. With his ambitions, newfound abilities and new friends, he aims to become the king of magic. Asta and Yuno are orphans raised from birth after being left at a church orphanage on the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom at the same time. In a world where everyone has the natural ability to perform some kind of magic, or Magic Power (魔力 Maryoku).

Asta is the only person born without magic power, which makes it physically train as compensation. Instead, Yuno was born as a prodigy with amazing magical powers and talent to control it. When he was 15 years old, Asta and Yuno were given the ability to become magicians known as Magic Knights by receiving grimoires, where all magical powers were channeled. Yuno is given a wind-based grimoire held by the first Royal Wizarding King, while Asta does not accept it. However, when a thief paralyzes Yuno to try to sell his grimoire on the black market, Asta summons his own grimoire, which contains a rare and mysterious Anti-Magic (which allows him to undo all magical effects), to defeat him. The story then follows the two boys in their time on separate squads in the Knights Magic, as they build friendly rivalries to try to become the Wizarding King himself.
