The Chemung County, NY Office of Fire and Emergency Management has created the CHEMUNG CO. NY EMERGENCY ALERT/PREPARE mobile application to help our citizens be better prepared, and to have all the information they need during an emergency or disaster. Some of the links available in this app are: emergency alerts, local traffic and weather information and warnings, social media contacts, and preparedness information that will guide you to measures you can take NOW to be ready if disaster strikes. By empowering our residents and business communities through technology, Chemung County Emergency Management can aid in citizen preparedness by sharing tips and preparedness/prevention measures, and can gain better situational awareness during an emergency from people who are being affected, as the situation is evolving, when they use this app to report what they are seeing and experiencing.
