Essnce works offline. It's built like an instrument you pick up when you get small free time — on a train, on a bus, or just relaxing on the couch.

There's plenty here, but the important parts live on five screens.

COMPOSE

Write music on a staff and hear it played back in a real instrument voice.

• Tap notes onto a staff; input from piano keys, a guitar fretboard, drum pads, or percussion
