Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy was born in Kuwait in 1976 and is a national Kuwait and reciter. He is the Imam of the Al-Kabir Mosque (Great Mosque (Kuwait)) in Kuwait City, and leads tarawih prayers in the month of Ramadan every year. He studied in the College of Quran and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Medina and has specialized in ten readings and translations of the Koran. In addition, he has been certified by a number of scholars from the Quran.
