We have had our independence with massive bloodshed and immense sacrifice of human lives. People of all faiths and lifestyles took part in the Liberation War in 1971 dreaming a prosperous and non-sectarian country of their own where men and women will enjoy equal rights, and the state will be non-discriminatory with its people. The independence earned through the sacrifice of millions of people is the greatest achievement of our nation. To make the achievement meaningful, we have to carry on with the struggle to make our country a better one.
