The SIM card - or SIM Card or GSM-SIM card in English - is a printed circuit smart card type used to identify, track and store data GSM mobile phones (Global System for Mobile Communications) is required in this, using R-UIM (Removable User identifiable Module) but uncommon in other cellular technologies. It usually store data such as subscriber information, schedules, preferences (settings), contracted services, SMS and other information.

The SIM name is an English acronym for Subscriber Identity Module ("Subscriber Identification Module"). Physically, the SIM card is made of plastic, where the smart card is printed with the ID number, which is like a car chassis or DNA. This number is called the ICCID (Integrated Circuit Card ID), and is unique worldwide.
