The Society of Petroleum Engineers Port Harcourt Section 103 was made a section by SPE International Board on the 15th of December 1987. The section is located in Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria. The section membership is over 1300 members compering seniors and young professionals. Port Harcourt section is the biggest section in African and is made up of seven states (7) namely Rivers State, Bayelsa State, Akwa Ibom State, Cross River State, Imo State, Anambra State and Enugu State

Port Harcourt Section has 14 student chapters under her which include Anambra State University, Enugu State University , Imo State Polytechnic, Institute of Management & Technology, Madonna University, Rivers State University, University of BUEA, University of Calabar, Federal University of Technology Owerri, University of Nigeria, University of Port Harcourt , University of Uyo, Niger Delta University and Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
