Welcome to the Strandstädarkartan Kattegatt!

This app is used to plan and communicate cleaning efforts to jointly reduce marine litter. The map is a collaboration between the Kattegat's Coastal Water Council, the coastal municipalities from Ängelholm in the south to Kungsbacka in the north and the County Administrative Board of Halland. With the help of the app, you can quickly and easily report efforts for a cleaner coast, participate in cleaning initiatives and locate cleaning needs. The map facilitates communication and streamlines the management of marine waste for both the municipality, contractors and volunteers.

Depending on the action, you select the type of selection you want to place on the map. Turn on your GPS in the phone and check that it is the right place, or zoom in on the map manually. If you have cleaned a beach and brought the rubbish, you can select "Cleaned". Fill in the form and submit. Feel free to attach before and after pictures.

If you do not have the opportunity to transport the rubbish yourself, select "Pick-up requirement". Place it in an easily accessible place where animals do not have easy access to it. Fill in the form and clearly describe with text where the rubbish is. Attach a picture of the location of the debris. The municipality's or County Administrative Board's work team will pick up the rubbish as soon as they have the time and opportunity.

If you see a littered bay or beach, select "Cleaning needs", fill in a short description and feel free to attach a picture. If you are planning a cleaning day and want to invite more volunteers, then select "Planned cleaning" and fill in the date and information about the planned cleaning.

There is a so-called OSPAR beach along the coastline. They are reference beaches and should NOT be cleaned by the public. Read at www.ospar.org.
