GainSpan Smartplug

The GainSpan Smartplug application works in conjunction with Gainspan SoC based Smartplugs and displays various power measurements as obtained from the Power Measurement IC used. It also allows the load to switched on/off. In Chart mode, it graphs the various parameters as they change with time.

GainSpan Smartplug displays the following power measurement parameters:

* Current

* Voltage

* Power

* Power Factor

* Frequency

* Cumulative Energy (if the IC supports this feature)

In addition, the app allows re-setting the cumulative energy value to zero.

Explanation of permissions required:

* Network Access: Required for communicating with the SmartPlug IC

* WiFi Allow WiFi Multicast: required for automatically discovering SmartPlug devices in your network

* View Network State, View WiFi State: Used for detecting whether WiFi is on and connected to an access point before attempting discovery

* Connect and disconnectfrom WiFi: Used for turning WiFi On (if it isn't already on) prior to attempting discovery

* Change UI settings: Required to automatically switch between Portrait and Landscape orientations when you switch between Tabular view and Chart view respectively
