Gelco

Gelco was established in 1980 upon initiative of a dynamic and highly skilled industrialist with a background in confectionery, who took over a company in the South of Italy. Ever since its origin the company, unique in its kind, has been equipped for the production of both gummy candies and extruded liquorice.

At its actual start in January1982 the company employed 16 persons.

In 1987 Gelco was taken over by Perfetti, that at that time was a major domestic confectionery company. Under the new ownership, the plant was modernized and expanded, the sales organization enhanced and new products were launched.
