महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी अधिनियम

महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी योजना (मनरेगा) देश में 07th सितम्बर 2005 को लागु किया गया। इस योजना को 2 फरवरी, 2006 को लागू किया गया। पहले चरण में देश के 27 राज्यों के 200 जिलों में इस योजना का लागु किया गया। इसमें 200 चयनित जिलों में 150 जिले ऐसे थे जहाँ काम के बदले अनाज कार्यक्रम पहले से चल रहा था। काम के बदले अनाज योजना व संपूर्ण ग्रामीण रोजगार योजना का विलय अब इस नई योजना में कर दिया गया है। अप्रैल 2008 से इस योजना को संपूर्ण देश में लागू कर दिया गया है।

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) has inherent provisions for proactive disclosure of information to its citizens in reference to implementation of the MGNREGS. Citizen awareness is a key to efficient, effective and transparent execution of the scheme, while the programme rests on participation principles. Paradigm shift from an employment-oriented to a sustainable and productive livelihood support programme warrants greater public engagement. Mobile phone acts as a mode of communication with people at farther places, with greater ease and lesser time.
